2009 Festival

6th Annual BendFilm Festival: October 8-11, 2009

In Their Own Words

We can't believe it is already over - but wow!  It was a really great Festival!  More screens, more films, more filmmakers, more fun!  And if you don't believe us: check out what the critics, filmmakers and bloggers are saying in their own words...

"I saw a movie about a guy and a bike and cancer that made me want to go right home and hug everyone I love..."  Read on, click here: Portal to Blissville, a blog by Kim Cooper Findling

What BendFilm has that will keep it alive even in precarious times is a committed core of organizers, volunteers and friends -- local and faraway -- who love the town and see the value in supporting independent American cinema.  Read more, click here: Back From Bend with a Bounce, by Shawn Levy, The Oregonian

We are still coming down from the high that was this weekend. Thank you, thank you, thank you for giving our film a chance. We think your faith in us and the sequential awards from the festival will give our film the credibility needed to navigate this final stage of the process. We are so grateful.

Best Wishes,
Danny Daneau

I had a super, amazing, wonderful, memorable time in your fair city.  The festival will rank high up there with one of the best.. . Your hospitality and generosity toward filmmakers trump all that.  I can't wait to come back.  Thanks for giving D tour an incredible opportunity to screen (five times!) before a community who truly loves independent film.  Wonderful, wonderful.

...I wanted to let you know what an incredible time I had screening 'Open Your Eyes' at and participating in BendFilm!!! Your festival is truly fantastic - from your audiences (who were really welcoming) to the films that screened.
It is not often that filmmakers rave about their experience at a festival - but that was something that happened non-stop during the 4 days of your festival.

Thank you again for having our film be part of this year's festival! Really hope that I will have the opportunity to be part of BendFilm in the future:)

All the best,
Susan
