Plan now to attend the BendFilm Festival October 9-12, 2008.

BENDFILM MISSION & OBJECTIVE BendFilm celebrates the brave voice of independent cinema though films, lectures, and education.
ABOUT THE BENDFILM FESTIVAL BendFilm Festival - Where filmmakers are Gods.
On the second weekend of October, Bend, Oregon is transformed from a recreational haven into a small-town possessed by the film industry’s soul. The nation gathers to behold the work of the most talented independent filmmakers.
Downtown theaters, lecture sites, music rooms and party venues spark with the energy excited by the overwhelming presence of cinema. The event runs deeper than the marathon film-watching that fills guest’s schedules from dawn until, well, dawn.
Everyone you see on the sidewalks, in the restaurants and bars makes, cares or has an opinion about film. It is the serendipitous encounters and ensuing discussions with the filmmakers and fellow passholders that makes the weekend so inspiring and affecting. |
Tickets & Passes
Avoid the lines, buy early. Passes sell out long before the festival starts. And tickets, well, we only release a limited number of tickets for pre-sale, the rest are sold at the door. Purchasing a pass provides guaranteed admission to the films you don't want to miss. Early purchasing will also keep you ahead of the lines.

Film Tickets
About 75% of all ticket sales occur at the door. We release only a small number of tickets for pre-sale. The rest are sold at the door just before the event. Avoid the lines and grab the pre-sale tickets while they last.
Carry A Ticket With Confidence (AKA: Lessons learned from the small venue debacle of 2005)
Should you purchase one of the few pre-sale tickets made available to a film screening, do so with the confidence that you will get in (as long as you show up on time.) We make this seemingly obvious statement because a computer glitch allowed us to oversell pre-sale tickets to several shows at McMenamins in 2005. Had this occurred at a larger event, it would have likely caused no issues, however in a theater that only holds 143, we had the perfect ticketing storm. We’ve learned from this, and you can too!
When should I arrive?
To increase your odds of being inside the doors when sell-out occurs, consider the following rules & guidelines:
Everyone- The smaller the venue, the earlier you should arrive. Also, consider engaging in the wonderfully non-conventional practice of attending the morning screenings. You’ll find much less commotion. The last screenings of the day tend to be a bit quieter too.
Pass holders- To guarantee attendance at The Tower or Regal’s Old Mill, arrive 20 minutes before the screening time. If you arrive later than that, you may still get in but the pass holders line will be closed and you’ll be directed to the back of the ticket holders line. Admission is not guaranteed to pass holders at McMenamins, bu arrive at least 20 minutes prior to the show and admission is very likely.
Ticket holders- You are required to arrive 15 minutes before the screening time to guaranteed admission. To get better seats, queue up earlier than that.
Non-ticket holders- Do not be discouraged. 75% of all tickets are sold at the door. Ask around and try to gauge the buzz surrounding your target screening and time your arrival accordingly.
